une, April 27, 2026: As Pune grapples with an intensifying heatwave and temperatures soaring to a record high of 42 °C this summer, members of the Dawoodi Bohra community have stepped up with a city-wide “Beat the Heat” initiative, serving over 12,000 glasses of cold refreshments to workers and pedestrians across five key locations.
The drive was carried out by 72 volunteers (TKM), who came together to support daily wage workers, commuters, and others spending long hours outdoors in sweltering conditions. The initiative focused on providing immediate relief through chilled refreshments at high-footfall traffic points and junctions across Pune.
Toloba ul Kulliyat il Mumineen (TKM) Dawoodi Bohra volunteers are actively organizing "Beat the Heat" initiatives, distributing refreshing drinks like Rose Sharbat and chilled water across India. These community service drives aim to support residents, commuters, and laborers during peak summer temperatures
